Dear MK/Parent:

Please consider yourself invited to our Thanksgiving MK Retreat, November 26-30, 2008! This invitation is extended to Assemblies of God MKs who have graduated from high school until their 23rd birthday (must be under 23 by the first day of retreat). The retreat will be held in Winter Park, Colorado (1 hour and 20 minutes northwest of Denver), at Beaver Village Lodge, nestled in the Rockies just one and a half miles from the ski area. If you want more variety than downhill skiing and snowmobiling, Winter Park also provides tubing, sleigh rides, horse-back riding, shopping, fitness club with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, weight room, exercise room, and racquetball courts. Parents, please note that payment for retreat cost is provided by the MK Office; however, travel to and from Colorado comes out of your (00) account if you have at least $5,000 in the account. If you have less than $5,000 in your (00), the MK office pays for the airfare as well. Both retreat and travel costs are covered by the MK office during your child's first year of college/work. Your child must sign a Participation Agreement before receiving his/her airline ticket to Retreat.

Fill out the on-line registration form and return it by October 1, 2008. If you register after this date, the cost of airfare may be too high to fly you in. Absolutely no registrations will be accepted after November 5th for air travel. Make special note of the late registration fee and the cancellation fee on the application. Neither of these fees can come out of your parents' work accounts, so please make sure you will be attending the retreat before you register.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS Travel arrangements will be handled by Great Southern Travel. Be as thorough as possible on your registration form to help them expedite your ticket.

From the information you provide on the registration form, we will purchase your ticket and Leah Mills will send it to you. All you need to do is board the plane with plenty of warm clothes. Please do not get bumped off a flight to receive a travel voucher en route to retreat. If you do, you will be personally responsible for transportation to Beaver Village from the airport. Feel free to get bumped on your return flight from retreat. Any fees resulting from a voluntary bumped flight will be personal - the MK Office will not assist you.

PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT

You will need to fill out, sign, and date this document before your ticket is sent to you. We want to have a fantastic retreat this year, and these guidelines are more than reasonable. If you cannot adhere to these guidelines, do not come to retreat! We look forward to having you once you find them agreeable. Furthermore, do not come based on what others say the guidelines are--you are responsible to this agreement only.

MONEY The MK Office will take care of your expenses-airfare, (most) activities, retreat meals, and lodging. You will need to bring money with you for snacks (at retreat and while traveling), video machines, and some activities are not covered by the MK Office. We will pay for two days of major activities like skiing or snowmobiling. If you want to do a third day of major activities, it will cost $20.00, payable to the MK Office at Retreat.

For those of you flying United or American, it now costs per piece of checked luggage ($15 for the first, $25 for every one after). The weight limit for checked pieces is 50 lbs and for a carry on 40lbs. We will not be paying for your luggage, so plan accordingly.

MORE INFO LATER November 1st I will send you more information on what to bring, etc. Until then!
